    Good Value Golf
I have played this course numerous times over the past five years and in my view remains the best value walking course on the coast. Still only 40 euros. Buggy is around 25 additional which is not necessary although a few long walks between holes on the front nine. The greens are in the best shape they have been in a number of years and the fairways are coming back, helped by the heavy rain at the back end of May. MAny others continue to complain about course condition etc however it is clear that there is investment going in and works ongoing. You can always pick and place on the fairway playimf social golf. Some of the bushes have been cut back which has made a big difference. The course is undoubtedly challenging off the back tees and there is no issue plying from these if you want to although they are not as well maintained as the yellows. 4th from the very back is one of the toughest drives out here. Although currently the tee box is not set up. This course is well worth a visit if you want a change from paying 80 euros plus for the rest. The staff in the shop and bar/restaurant are always welcoming and there is no pressure to pair you up if you want a solo game.

    Misleading reviews - lovely experiences
We have come to Spain for a month and we aim to play at least 24 rounds in 28 days. You will note from research Green fees can be on the expensive side (in fact in some cases extortionate). Having read the reviews of La Duquesa golf I was pretty much expecting something akin to the Somme. Some people clearly write garbage and the majority of reviews are in my humble opinion inaccurate and damaging. It is clear the resort has been through tough times but the clubhouse/Restaurant/Bar/Greens staff are working their socks off to restore this very fine set up back to former glories. This is a challenging course and a few of the fairways need a little restoration work BUT they are very playable (especially if you take preferred lies). We have joined for a month, are playing every day and the whole experience has been nothing but positive. The staff are superb. So if you are happy paying upward of €140 maybe you’ll give this course a miss - more enjoyment for us. A huge thumbs up - 2 persons + buggy for a month in July €725 (that’s £619.00). We love it - greens are excellent and the green staff are doing a great job.

    Superb staff makes a day
A great team really trying to make a difference are making an average golf course into a lovely day. The course is tired but the back 9 plays really well . Needs a little love. The pro shop guy was so good , very helpful and friendly . Bar and restaurant staff were the same and we had fun . We have paid twice as much and not enjoyed it half as much so we’ll done everyone

    Poor condition.
I’ve took into account the hot weather we’ve had so added an extra star due to the drought ( having said that the course is being watered). The course itself is a difficult one. Very testing. Many many fairways sloping left to right and verse versa. Greens were ok. Not bad. The course itself in general is in a tired and scruffy state. It needs A LOT of work. Many bunkers unplayable - hardly any sand or just compacted. The cart path ways crumbling. Scrubs and palm trees over grown and need trimming right back. There are signs of neglect throughout. So sorry to write it as it’s our local course and I just wish someone would get hold of it and do something. Unfortunately in my view you’d need to spend so much money on it and shut it down for a season as a gradual improvement plan just won’t work. One thing though it’s cheap.

Really enjoyed our first golfing experience in Spain.
As we are new to golf and it was our first time playing in Spain we were very pleased with our experience there. We played twice in the week and found the course challenging for us. The staff were so friendly especially in the bar and the food was excellent. Many locals had come for a Sunday afternoon lunch which made for a great atmosphere and this tells you something about the quality of the food. I can see that the course needs some general improvements but I guess like many businesses all over Europe they were hit hard by covid. I can see that the clubhouse itself needs some work especially to the changing rooms but we would go back again.

This is a challenging course--wonderful design by Robert Trent Jones Jnr. in the typical hilly coastline courses. I have played over 50 rounds here over the years and it has some spectacular holes--#11, #4,#6, and #8.
The best staff on the Costa de Sol manage this course, efficient, friendly and professional.
Hope to be back next year for a longer stay.

Played this course today I felt it’s the worst golf course in Costa del Sol. Even the club house changing facilities were diabolical. It was dirty and require a lot of investment to bring it up to standard of other golf courses in Costa del Sol. People say it’s good value. It certainly is not. The T boxes are covered in weed. Greens are uneven and fairways are patchy and weedy despite the recent rain. Imagine playing this course in the summer? To those that say it’s best value for money, it’s more expensive than La Cala where the facilities, course condition and club house was fantastic. Now that’s value for money!

I’ve given 1 star for the views. Some holes have fantastic sea views.

Very worried reading all comments but so happy we played there -- first 9 ver narrow and tecnical - back 9 more open and fun to play -- green very fast and we sometimes had to place the ball on fairways but it hasn't rained in months now - so overall perfect for the price -- we had a wonderful meal after so basically had a great day

The front 9 on the Eastern side is much tougher than the back 9 and both offer amazing views and a great range of holes.

The greens were good, but the tees and fairways need some work to get them into better condition.

The course provides reasonable value for money if you are staying locally and I was happy that I could pick up my son's lost club a few days later.

The lady in the pro shop was pleasant and it is a course that I would consider returning to if in the area again (mainly to see if it improves).
