Very nice picture from down at the river of this abbey. Other than this.., not worth a visit. We entered inside... just a plane church nothing unique or special. The smaller building/church is nicer and much more interesting so if you are there enter this...More

My wife and I spent 5 day here, guests of the Abbey, recuperating from a three day pilgrimage walk from Paris to Chartres. A quiet village with not much but peace, quiet, the abbey and a nunnery. Attend Vespers or Compline at the Abbey church...More

Great place to visit, but don't miss sung vespers by eth Monks- plainsong extraordinaire, at 5 pm each evening , but check time before you visit

Lovely little town where the abbaye is located. On their website you can see the times when the Gregorian monks will be chanting - it is worth a visit. You can visit the church and also take a boat trip out of Sable Sur Sarthe...More

We love to attend Vespers and listen to the Gregorian Chant. The monks are welcoming and the setting is lovely.
