The weather was exceptionally good for February and as it was a Monday afternoon, there were no crowds to interfere with our quiet walk along the river bank. We had a little trouble finding our way to the lock in a car, first landing in...More

Enjoyed a lovely 5 mile walk along the canal stopping at Five Rise Locks . Beautiful place but couldn’t believe the speed of some groups of cyclists hurtling along tow path and not slowing down for walkers including the elderly and those with young children....More

A nice flat place to walk or cycle. We walked the dog along the canal. Take care to watch out though for the many cyclists.

Lovely little wander watching the boats, and a nice little cafe further up where you can eat and feed the ducks.

This is a good distance from Apperley Bridge, perhaps 40 minutes at quite a slow pace. It is a lovely walk for a dog.

Yes up Park Road for approx 400 yards. Climb the hill and turn left at the crossroads on Beck Lane , carry on to a mini roundabout and park somewhere there. The locks is down a short road for about 50 yards
