Good spot within the city. A good picnic spot also. Toy train ride is good. Some spots may be closed like butterfly park, need 2-3hours. Points for snacks are very less

Visited Kanpur zoo, more popularly known as Allen Forest. I was happy to see the changes. The last I visited Allen Forest was sometime in 1979. A little of new things were seen. Animal enclosures were clean.

There is immense potential for the zoo since the area is vast and the tree cover is good. If the UP govt pulls up it's socks it can really make it a good tourist attraction not only for the city folks but also those from nearby cities. Cleanliness is an issue. Also there are not as many animals as can be there. So hopefully all this which are basic issues can be fixed rather than the new toy trains etc

all types of rare and common animals, a big aquarium and train view all around, but be aware of wandering monkeys snatching any thing especially food items.

A great weekend entertainment for family. The kids with love the forest environment and the great assortment of animals and birds. The best part is that this is a drive through zoo so you can visit the entire place in the comfort of your car. A decent picnic location as well.

A pleasant surprise in Kanpur!
Lion, Tiger, Hippo, Rhino, Zebra, Croc, Snakes, Deer, Antelope, Blue Bull, wow!!!!!
Extremely green and clean place, well managed as per "Kanpur standard".... you get a battery operated vehicle to roam inside.
If you are going with kids, I recommend going in the early hours, to avoid dehydration and tiredness.
Take battery car ONLY if you want to wind up within 1 hour.
The battery car takes INR 210 for seven passengers. Ride time - 45 MINS.
and INR 120 for four passengers with same ride time.
There is a toy train which operates only when the crowd is enough for the coach to be fully occupied.
Fish museum and bird park is also made inside, which can be enjoyed at leisure.
No plastic allowed inside. Car parking is chargeable. Entry fee is INR 40 per adult, INR 20 per kiddo.
All in all, its a good place to spend an entire day with family and friends and be in touch with nature.
