Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very knowledgable people who are also very helpful. Can do almost anything, while also having tourist type items for sale.

Very informative and great place to go so you can find the interesting places to visit. One place worth seeing is the Mokena Soda Fountsin Geyser which I believe is the only one if it’s kind in the world. It is active around every fourty minutes or so and is well worth the wait.

We called into the i-site twice during our 5-day stay in Te Aroha and found the i-site gave us exactly the information we needed.

For example, we arrived by bus on a Monday afternoon and had been expecting takeaways would be all we'd manage for dinner that night. Visiting the i-site for information about walks and things to do, the very helpful staff member let slip that Villa Nine's manager had just decided to open for dinners on Mondays and Tuesdays. Beautiful food (in fact, between Ironique, Taj Indian Restaurant, Villa Nine and Saz Kebab, the quality of the food was outstanding in Te Aroha.)

Also, we'd done our best using google to find a taxi or shuttle to Paeroa, to no avail, but we learnt about two other providers whom we hadn't found, so that was well worth going to ask.

The I-site was full of information about the local sculpture, architecture, baths, walks and geography. Te Aroha was pretty impressive altogether. We'll definitely go back.

I've answered the specific questions below with not sure because I'm writing about the I-site itself. I would have said Yes if I was writing about Te Aroha, or even about the lovely Domain next door.

We stayed at Te Aroha motel next door so great location of visitor center. Extensive range of brochures on accommodation and areas to visit in Te aroha and in New Zealand. Friendly staff willing to assist. We tied up staff member trying to source accommodation options for us in Wellington . We wanted to be conveniently located to catch interislander ferry. Was getting embarrassed at amount of time we occupied of sole staff member trying to source opur accommodation. She didnt give up and finally we located a vacancy in a inner city hotel. Our highest recommendation for staff working at this centre. Do visit .You wont be dissapointed

What a fantastic gem we have. Michelle and her team are so good and I do love going in there. The prices are not expensive and a good selection. In fact Christmas is coming up.....I was just a bit disappointed that one of the kid shirts didn't come in an adult size. 1 Kiwi, 2 kiwi, red kiwi, blue kiwi...get adult sizes and I'm in.

Thanks for your review Julie B - glad you found some pressies for your family. We've had other requests for the kiwi T's in adult sizes...they're just not available, unfortunately.

Stopped in this visitors center and was greeted with a friendly smile and welcome. The lady was very helpful with pointing me to the pamphlets that told me about the town and surrounding area. Loved her enthusiasm.

In driving from Wellington to Auckland we decided to take our time and stop for the evening whenever we wanted. Therefore, it wasn't possible to make reservations at a hotel in advance. When we got as far as Te Aroha, we knew we would be able to reach Thames, New Zealand by dinnertime. Having had great success with I-Site Information Centres in other cities and towns, we stopped at the centre in Te Aroha. The woman who helped us could not have been more friendly or more helpful. She spoke with reception staff at several motels before she found the one she thought would be best for our needs. She gave us travel advice and tourist sites she thought we would like around Thames. If you are traveling in New Zealand, we wholeheartedly recommend any of the I-Site Information Centres up-to-date information.
