Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a brilliant time, the kayaks were great and the river was gorgeous, beautiful views of Te Aroha mountain. Enough of a current to make it light work for the whole family, we throughly enjoyed it. Matt is a great guide and very helpful and patient. Would highly recommend

We booked this kayak trip very spur of the moment and had a most excellent time. Matt was responsive, helpful, and able to make our afternoon very enjoyable. He has lots of experience and gave us good tips about paddling the river. If you have any experience, this is more of a float so also great for beginners. A gorgeous way to spend a couple of hours.

What a cool little venture this was. You get a wee town tour then shown where you picked up and then it’s off to the drop off point. There’s quite a strong current in the river which works in your advantage. You can either go mad paddling and get back in a world record time or paddle every now and again and cruise back looking at the scenery. A really enjoyable venture if your in the area.

I enjoyed a great adventure with my father on the SUP. We ventured from Mace Rd back to Te Aroha township. It was a tranquil paddle, nothing like having the river to yourself!

Kelvin was an energetic guide and knowledgeable about the rich history of Te Aroha.

A must-do activity!

We really enjoyed a leisurely hour and a half float/paddle on the Waihou River. A quick, interesting wee tour of Te Aroha learning some more about its history and then a brief but thorough safety briefing and into the kayaks we went. It was very peaceful paddling on the river, with lovely views of Mt Te Aroha. I would definitely recommend Adventure Te Aroha.

3 of us plus our dog Duchess went Kayaking. Kelvin was very thorough with safety and explanations. We were perfectly safe at all times, including Duchess even though it was her first time. We bought a safety jacket for her, so she was fine even when she fell off the kayak 3 times! LOL! None of us fell in, only Duchess.
The views and experience was well worth it. Highly recommended.
