Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have watched this place grow over the last few years and in June 23 it was a stunning luxurious place with great food and drinks. The kids loved the beach and the bar / watersports was amazing. It's safe, calm and ideal for families wanting that classy beach feel.

I am so saddened that it was gutted by the wild fires. I really hope they can rebuild it back to its former glory and I'm sure they will. It was a great place to come and I m sure they will pull it out the bag.

Wishing the owners all the best

There is not much to do there but the beach ia very nice. There is a very expensive little places where you can buy snacks and drinks.
You need to pay for the son loungers (€5/each) and you get key for the locker to out your wallet away while swimming. The beach is lovely and mostly sandy, view is amazing, there is toilet and shower. Good day out ro chill by the sea.

Glystra beach was a lovely haven 15 or so years ago. It was remote, picturesque but also had a very friendly snack bar. This year we visited again. The beach is still lovely - wide, sweeping bay, lovely soft sand in most parts (although it can be a bit stony just at the water's edge in places) but that wasn't a problem. The water is shallow for ever such a long way out so it feels very safe. There are rocky headlands at each end of the bay for snorkelling for fish. What more can you ask? Sadly the old snack bar has been pulled down and dumped at one side. A brand new snack bar has been built at the sea front. Yes, you can sit and eat and drink under shelter from the sun, but it has somehow lost it's character. The beer was good and the food wasn't bad! It was very welcome. The beach now has toilets and showers and changing rooms but the unfortunate habit the Greeks have of dumping large amounts of un-needed stuff in the vicinity has spoilt the overall picture. However, I would go again for the swim and the beer etc. Wish the Greeks would tidy up the other bits!

I have been visiting Glystra beach for 16 years. It was a lovely quiet bay for kids grandkids and adults.
The cantina on the beach was run by a lovely family who have been there over 30 years.

It has since been taken over by someone who charges a lot more for a bottle of water!! Admittedly the beds and parasols are nice with a safe to lock your valuables in. The price of these have also gone up each year.

This year we were greeted by an enormous structure which is said to be completely illegal. Rumours have it that they have been told to stop working on it but they are adding to it at nighttime. It is such a blot on our favourite beach. It makes me feel sad that the beach has changed so much. I am now looking for a nice peaceful beach.

The beach itself is amazing as it’s soft sand and when you go in the sea the soft sand continues so no painful stones under your feet, very child friendly and had no problems parking around 1030am BUT the sunbed prices are crazy, for two beds at the front it’s €50 (100 if you want a great big one slightly nearer the water!) then €40 for the next row back and then €30 at the very back, the food in the big structure is ok but a bit pricey and the snack bar at the side of the beach is ok. The toilets are very clean and the place has a nice vibe but I did get the definite impression everyone thought it was overpriced !

This used to be such a lovely, laid-back beach. On a very recent visit the new monstrosity looks like it's almost ready to open. What happened to 'environmental impact' here? Also very strong smell of fuel from the boat hire drifting over the beach. Such a shame.

This was one of the "must do" beaches on the travel guides and although picturesque from a distance, upon arrival at the beach it was actually quite dirty. The water was murky in the first few metres with lots of restaurant debris on the sea bed. The toilets were dirty, with no toilet roll and the cafe was unwelcoming.

The beach itself is very beautiful, but the landscape was badly damaged by the fire. The sunbeds and the restaurant were completely burned and no longer exist. This means that the beach is not as crowded and is still beautiful.
The beach itself actually deserves a better rating, but the small bar that is still there is particularly negative.
For a normal 0.3l can of beer, tourists pay €6. They are using the fire as an excuse to simply raise the prices.
The unfriendly rip-off is driving away the tourists that the people actually make their living from!

I was recommended this beach by a local business owner and glad I went. It is small but with crystal clean waters and loungers available if you want or just put some towels down on the sand. There are toilets and a cafe but not much else, so perfect for a relaxing dip or a few hours of rest.

Free parking. Sun beds €5 each. Toilets weren’t great, no loo roll so take tissues! Beautiful beach. Shallow to walk out into. Some rocks about for snorkelling but I saw more fish over at Kavos beach. Changing rooms and showers. Also a little cafe that shuts at 6. Didn’t sample anything from there though. We were staying in Pefkos so nice and easy to get too.
