The museum structure is beautiful, and there was some nice art. Overall it felt like it wasn't very well curated, and the accompanying text (in English) was quite dry. The gift shop was overpriced and with a limited selection of goods. Considering it is free...More

We went on a public holiday morning during our 3 days 2 nights short getaway trip. We took our 16, 15, 8 and 6 year olds there. The museum was free and while the pieces on exhibition weren’t “internationally renowned ”, they did showcase some...More

Only two floors were open due to changes being made to exhibits. Admission was free. Lovely local art on one floor with a full floor dedicated to a contemporary exhibit of women artists. Excellent museum store. Perfect place to find special gifts or high quality...More

All the museums in Macau are free and way, way more interesting than any of the casinos. We always see thought-provoking and unusual exhibits at this museum. It's right next door to the Cultural Center, where my husband was guest-performing (banjo) with the Macau Orchestra.

This is where politics don't matter, a few displays by Xu Bing crossing the line and might be quite controversial against the Chinese government and its people, others like us will take it as a laugh, yet it didn't get any censorship, which enhances the...More

I was delighted by the displays of contemporary works that were on show during my visit. I was expecting a very conservative collection but it was anything but.

The museum is an excellent place for both kids and adults to go to. I love the front entrance, and especially the new exhibit, which will be staring until after a few weeks. I suggest everyone to go. Also, the admission is free and the...More

The museum isn't that big and it's for free. I was pleasantly surprised. The photography section on the ground floor isn't impressive, but there's a whole series of water color looking paintings on the 2nd or 3rd floor on the Forbidden City and it's pretty...More

We liked the modern art exhibition in the museum, but also the standard exhibition about Chinese vases. Also the building itself has an interesting architecture.
