Lou Kau's Mansion is in a small lane off of Senado Square and we walked right past it without noticing it. We returned to explore the mansion which had been restored. The wooden furniture and window shutters were in first class condition and are worth...More

While there is actually not much to see and do here, the insight into Chinese architecture and living styles of 19th and early 20th century. It is free to see, so if passing then worth popping in to, and it does not take long to...More

The Lou Kau Mansion is an attractive historic Chinese mansion and nice example of late 19th century Chinese architecture. While not as large as fellow World Heritage - Mandarin's House, what is available to see is quite impressive and worth making time for when sightseeing...More

It is not that big as the term Mansion will indicate, but it is very interesting. Very high tall ceilings, which I believe were done for the heat in the summer times. Beautiful wood carvings and interesting drainage system of the inside courtyard.

A beautiful and authentic house in the middle of the old city. Went through all rooms on the ground floor and got the chance to visit the upper floor. Very well preserved and worth checking out if you’re visiting

Hardly a mansion, but the Lou Kau house is free to visit and well worth seeking out. The upstairs isn't open, but the rooms downstairs are quite charming and have a lot of decor detail you won't find elsewhere. Closed on Mondays.
