This is just the place to take any budding young archaeologist, or to make much older versions wish they had joined that profession years ago. A wonderful ruin thatt aches to be further explored. Don’t miss it if you are Umbria!

We were part of a large group of international friends (speaking English, French, Italian and Spanish) so it was a challenge to make it work, but Giacomo did his best! We learned tons about this oil trading town and its long history and were very pleased to have been able to get up close and personal with the ruins. I would suggest bringing water as it was extremely hot when we went (and a 3 hour tour to boot) and we were without water. Make sure to take a guided tour and enjoy!

First of all this, is an extensive site in great condition for Italy. We happened to go on an event weekend which I would recommend. It appears most if not all of these are 3 day events. Read the brochures and determine which day you rally want to go. Once you get inside the site (5E) very little in the way of food/refreshments to offer. A cafe/bar is in the parking lot outside the venue.

A short ride just down the road out of Otricoli, over looking the upper Tiber River. you will find the most amazing Roman ruins. They are the product of, judging from the importance of the ruins, what was a very large Roman town, built upon presumably an Etruscan town. There is a forum and a theatre and other stone ruins clearly evident and very approachable. They are a short walk from the car park and snack bar and are free of charge. What a treat for Romanophiles!

The Parco is very well run and kept. It's a small gem that is not so well known, but deserves a visit!
