We took the cable car with our 2 kids (2 and 6 years old). The view is 360° above the whole area of lakes. At the top, we enjoyed the games for kids. To sum up, this is a pleasant trip to go the top...More

We decided to try this. They are two person cable cars, some open, some closed! It takes you to the top where there is a snack bar and also a restaurant.

I've been on the bucket funicular many times now and it's always fabulous. It's our 'go-to' activity when we have visitors to the area. There's a certain thrill in jumping into a moving bucket and being bundled up a mountain. The staff are always helpful,...More

First of all, I am afraid of heights. It took me 20 minutes before I could be convinced to do it. Both up and down I went with a closed 'bucket'. They advised me not to take the open one if I am afraid of...More

The cable-car (or rather -bucket) fee was a bit expensive, but well worth it. Considering I´m scared of heights it wasn´t so bad because it was slow and not so far off the ground. On the peak it was very windy and cool compared to...More

This is the only place where we say a similar cable car. Stand-up tin for two, we loved it. View all over the Lago Maggiore from the top of Monte Sasso del Ferro is fantastic.

€20 euros was a little on the expensive side but the ride up was just under 20 minutes and gave a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The cafe had a great view of the beginning of the alps. The boys made it...More

Cool way to reach the top! A closed or open stand-in bucket cable car lift. Ideal for two person and definitely take the open one for better view. Great view to the lake and the mountains. Nice restaurant on the top for lunch or dinner.

No queue. €10 each for up and down is really worth it. Once you've got over the fear and trepidation of stepping into green metal bucket and being slowly winched higher and higher, you soon relax and take in the staggering views. Cafe at the...More

We hiked to the top (which is quite difficult and steep but excellent exercise) and rode down one way. Definitely get the open bucket, even if it's raining because it's really awesome. Take a few pics. but then sit back and peacefully look over the...More

No, more like just above the waist. It is a bit scary if you have vertigo. There are enclosed cabins as well, we didn't try but could be claustrophic!
