We hadn’t seen anything like this twisted and sculpted basalt canyon. But we were disappointed by the state of the infrastructure and park around the canyon. The lift down to canyon floor was dilapidated. Fencing was rusted and in poor repair. The park was messy....More

This is a super family excursion. Visited in beginning of September and enjoyed every bit. We went around the park and looked at all the advantage points. We then went down with the lift (better then stairs) and waded up stream. The water was quite...More

It is a must, of course, but overpopulated and it takes fomething out of its charm. Water in the gole is freezing cold even in the hottest weather.

This place is very beautifull, very unusial rocks, very cold and clean river (the flow is very fast). Convinient place to hide from the siesta. A parking is nearby. We did not visit a park upstairs, only canyon. There is a possibility to try rafting...More

A beautiful unique spot but please don't go through that private area behind the car park and just go 50 meters further north and enter through the public entrance, the fee is just 1.50€. Whoever pays 13€ for the entrance must be crazy.

A fun place to spend a few hours. There is a large free car park and you can walk the steps for 1.50, and if tired take the lift back up for 5 Euro pp. Fun splashing and riding the rapids but water is cold...More

You can get in FOR FREE ! And it is completely LEGAL. If you park following signs "gole Alcantara" that are everywhere you will be charged 13e for entrance and probably parking is to be paid too. But the river is a public park and...More

So it's usual canyon with a very cold river. You may walk through it. You may swim. Ideally is a good place to stop between to journeys. The price is 13 Euro for full ticket which includes botanical park. I highly advise to skip it...More
