This is one of the most ancient of Byzantine churches. It was among the first sites in Italy to be recognised as a national monument. You cannot enter the church but you can look through the gates.

This old church is not far off the main road but not very well signposted. It is interesting for its unusual design, resembling a mosque rather than a church. You cannot go inside so a brief lok at the exterior is really all that is possible.

Nice to see I took lots of pictures I went with my cousin who I did not know I had until my cousin found me in the USA by using Facebook. That a building made of rock (Lava Stone) has been standing for such a long time ( since 400AC ) with all the earthquake in the area it seem impossible that such small church still stand What is called church is a Byzantine Cuba and is one of a kind well worth the detour to admire it. …
