Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This gallery has stunning examples of New Zealand art (Len Lye, Ralph Hotare, Rita Angus) and well as examples of non-western art collected by the Gallery’s benefactor.
Free entry. An outstanding collection that you would not imagine could be in a town the size of Gore.

What a beautiful building this gallery is housed in - just delightful and I believe recently re-decorated. Originally this building was the library which was partially funded by Andrew Carnegie . The Jim Cooper exhibition that was on at the time was just amazing! This is a must if you are in the area - even just to see the building!

You don't often find an art gallery in a small provincial NZ town with world class works. Based around the donated John Money collection with a number of early Rita Angus works and some astonishing African carving, there's also a wonderful Hotere collection and a guest exhibition. Free entry and a must-visit.

The Eastern Southland Gallery is located the old library building. There is a collection of New Zealand art and a nice collection of African masks, sculptures and folk art all collected by a man named John Money.

Giften an outstanding collection by Dr J Money. Ranging from paintings by Rita Angus and Ralph Hotere along with indigenous art from around the world.this is the most ecelctic gallery I have ever been in. Having been here before I was truly looking forward to this visit. Unfortunately a few minutes after we arrived it was invaded by a coachload of people who were very noisy. This spoiled the whole ambience .... very disappointed
