Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, who wished to ensure I knew options for Gore and my future travel through Southland without being too pushy.
A good stop for free AA maps.
Newly built building, airy and bright. There is a wooden tent for children to play in, lots of seating (probably a bit low for the elderly to get out of without help). Wheelchair accessible.

Excellent. It is currently being reconstructed but Karen who we spoke to was so informative and spent sometime with us explaining what it will be like when it is all completed. We so enjoyed hearing her knowledge. Thank you Karen.

This place is a must to go to when travelling through Gore. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plus you get a bit of information about the history of Gore and what things to do while visiting. They also do bookings.
Was around $5 to see a movie and walk around this amazing Gore Historical Museum and the Moonshine Museum. Plus got a taste of the Hokonui Whiskey which I'm sure you can also purchase and buy online.
This is the great town where the Fleming Factory made rolled oats.

Walked in near the end of the day to ask if there was any accommodation in town. The girls were absolutely fantastic, willing to offer their help, suggest options and make a few calls. A real credit to their roles.

We were passing through this beautiful town on the Mataura River. Being the Christmas-break time, all businesses were shut. We stopped over at the park near the Little Theatre and the bridge across the river. Sylvan is the word to describe this centre of NZ Country Music and Brown Trout country.

For such a small town, this place is very good, and the lady there who helped us was wonderful. Very helpful and nothing was a problem. Great introduction to Gore. Wish I could recall her name.

For such a small town, I did not expect much for the visitor center. It was huge with lots of history and organized presentation. Its world class. Lots of treasures in this small museum. Very very informative. You won't get bored and especially its all free. A great stop on the way to Te Anau and with clean bathrooms.
