Must see
Apr 2019 • Couples
We were totally taken aback by the magnificent fresco by Perugino. The oratorio is an easy walk from the center, no other visitors when we were there, a 2 Euro fee.

If in the area, try to stop at Panicale and other small towns in the vicinity, which also have works by Perugino. Easy driving in the area.

A masterpiece by Perugino
Oct 2016 • Couples
What a wonderful feeling it is to view a painting masterpiece without pushing crowds all around. We were the only visitors in the small Oratory and could stand near to the painting and take in all the details.I would recommend taking a pair of binoculars so that you can see the details. For instance, in the top left-hand side, there are camels, one with a monkey on its back! After viewing the painting, take a walk in the town which is the birthplace of Piero Vannucci, aka Perugino.

Perugino's beautiful fresco!
Jun 2016 • Couples
This fresco was painted in 28 days, quite an accomplishment by Perugino, a native son of Citta della Pieve. It is located next to the church and the price of the ticket is more than worth it. The woman at the counter was very informative and lovely in her expression of the fabulous work of this great artist.

One of Perugino's best works!
Sep 2015 • Couples
Citta della Pieve is Perugino's home town, and he graced this little chapel with a wall-sized versionof the Adoration of the Magi. He included depictions of notables of the time, and Lake Trasimeno in the background, giving the work depth. You can see in his painting of clothing the influence he had on his student, Raphael.

Beautiful Perugino painting by their favorite native son!
Aug 2015 • Family
This little Oratorio is home to one of the best Perugino paintings in the world, "The Adoration of the Magi". Perugino was the nickname of Pietro Vannucci (1446/1450 – 1523), who was born in Citta della Pieve to very wealthy parents. He was an Italian Renaissance painter of the Umbrian school, who developed a style that found expression in the High Renaissance. He was responsible for decorating the walls of the Sistine Chapel in Rome and Raphael was his most famous pupil. His use of perspective was original for his time and he always painted the landscape of his native town and nearby Lago Trasimeno in the background of his paintings. This is a chance to see a marvelous Perugino up close and personal to see the beauty of his brush stokes.

Wooow !!!!
Jul 2015 • Couples
The Wooow effect ! You walk through a small poor quality door straight from the street and you are faced with a masterpiece by Il Perugino. As a bonus, you are on your own Bécaud des pote the great job done by the tourist office, Citta della Pieve seems to be off the beaten path.
Worth the trip by itself!

Beautiful fresco of Perugino!
It seems a bit hidden, but do go in to admire the beautiful 1504 fresco "the adoration of Magi" by the hand of Perugino in the side chapel of the brotherhood S. Maria dei Bianchi. Well worth admiring!

Brilliant fresco
Oct 2013 • Friends
It's worth calling in to see the Adoration of the Magi by Perugino. The painted landscape is the world around you in this part of Umbria and the colours and clarity of the portraits are brilliant. Supposedly, Perugino's face is amongst them.

Adoration of the Magi by Il Perugino

Along with three of his other works in the Cattedrale Santi Gervasio e Protasio, this is a must-see in the beautiful little city of Citta della Pieve.
