My fiancé and I visited Punakaiki on our South Island road trip, and it was one of our favourite stops. All of the equipment was in great condition, the scenery can't be beat (literally kayaking down a giant serene gorge), and the hosts were top...More

Had a great time on the Pororari River with our family of four (including our two boys aged 11 and 8). Ken was pretty laid back and helpful, but not in your face at all. We had a beautiful day which really showed off the...More

My husband and I hired two kayaks for two hours in the early afternoon and were the only people on the river as you can go up the river without a guide. The 2 hours went by so quickly as we paddled up the river...More

Even though it was cloudy and raining a bit we had a wonderful time. Views to die for and if you stop paddling you hear only the noise of the jungle. Friendly staff.

I personally think the Porarari river is one of the most beautiful rivers in NZ, the scenery around here is stunning. Kayaking up and down the river was a great experience and lots of fun!

The guy that runs the place is really funny and very accommodating. He's never closed, there is a button you push to call him if he's not there and he will show up a minute or two later. We went on a rainy day and...More

Super friendly owners and the most amazing river I've ever kayaked down. The scenery along the river blew my mind. Felt like I was kayaking through Jurassic Park. Don't miss this if you go to Punakaiki.
