A good place to visit. Well worth the drive

The rocks are very close to everything in the area. It is a self guided walk, which is easy for people with walking difficulties.

Pancake Rocks and the blowholes at Dolomite Point are truly unique and should not be missed. Right off of Highway 6, it is a short hike to loop past an assortment of viewing points to see the very different geological formations along a spectacular section of the coast. The path is paved and fully accessible, and the full loop will... More

Always a wonderful experience whether the blow holes are 'working' or not. For best experience, visit when the seas are stormy with a large swell. This sometimes coincides with rain, but don't be deterred, you can warm up in the cafe across the road afterwards!!

There is a path and walkway that goes along the cliff top and overlooks the rocks, all very pleasant but not spectacular. Part of a nice coast line. There are a tourist office, tourist shops and cafes close by.

You cannot drive by Punakaiki on the west coast drive without stopping to see these rock formations. The trail is in perfect condition and offers great views of the eroded rocks and blowholes. Easily accessible from the highway.

We took the walk and view fantastic rock formations, special when the waves push the water through the blowholes and splashes up. Great opportunity to take pictures!

Worth a stop if you're passing through and have time. Interesting and unexplained (partially) geologic formation. We were there in the middle of the day and the track was very crowded, but the scenery was great.

Just so happened to catch it when the waves were at their peak so the sea spray was rather spectacular. That being said the parking lot was very crowded and people were parked everywhere. The only thing to note is that the walkways are on top of the rocks so it's a bit awkward if you want pictures with sky... More
