We started with Pororari River Track and then turned to Inland Pack Track. Don't do so. The part of Pororari River Track took us around 1-1,5 hour. It was better to turn back. But we continued up&down hills (Inland) till we reached the road. Tiring!...More

Short stop over while visiting to Pancake Rock. Short trekking for us from parking area for about 30 min. Encounter rich rainforest along the river trail.

We visited Punakaki Rocks and then camped in our campervan in the car park where this trail starts. Very few people when we were there which was great. You will hike through a rainforest and follow the river for most of this hike. We went...More

The New Zealand bush is so varied and interesting. Some of the tracks were closed following cyclone Gita but this was still a very enjoyable walk with very varied flora, and we came across an enormous green stick insect.

This is a great walk for anyone in this region looking for a bit of nature. The track takes you along a small river for about 3 kms along a very well maintained track. It is not a loop so the walk in and out...More

Loved it! You can decide between a 1-3 hours walk (one way). The nature is great and the river lovely. I walked until the swingbridge which is also very cool. You don't have to be very sportive or used in walks. Do that if you...More

An easy walk alongside the river, passing through woodland with many old trees draped with lichens. Shame you have to return by the same path.

Easy 1h track or 2h if you do the loop. Alternatively you can rent a kayak and do 1-3 of the root by paddling.
