Promenade per se was good to walk thru, the big let down was the amount of littering. Corporation of Pondy and us visitiors as well have to do better by not littering and cleaning up by corp.

This is a popular sea-side promenade, which is closed to vehicular traffic in the evenings. Park your two-wheeler on any side-street, and walk down the length of the promenade. Always crowded in the evenings, especially towards the Dupleix Statue side. You can't go down to...More

Promenade beach is a very nice place if you just want to sit peacefully on the shore. Unlike other beaches, you cant can't enter the sea, as it's filled with stones. View is awesome and some good cafes nearby makes it a good hangout place.

Loved the sea breeze and the carnival atmosphere. There were people walking and having fun without invading each others' privacy.

The beach suffered in the cyclone and huge beach erosion groins (groits?) were put along it. There is no swmimming possible, nor any way to get to the waters edge. The beach itself is also very dirty, used as a rubbish tip by the stalls...More

Hi...You can visit pondy and do the site seeing on the same day but if you want to spend more time on each visiting point then you won't be covering all the spots. Plan accordingly.
