Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Eddie from Waihi bike hire was great. Would recommend the reliable shuttle service and his knowledge of the area is really worthwhile. Thanks

It was delightful to discover the old gold mining town of Waihi on our recent visit to the Coromandel District, well maintained buildings and streets, interesting statues, characters from the old days. We had just finished hiking in the Karangahake Gorge north of Waihi on State Highway 2 in the morning, we were on our way to Tauranga, Waihi was well positioned for our lunchtime break. In hindsight we needed an hour or two to explore the township.

We spotted the lookout sign and we are glad we did. The gold mine was amazing. We had never seen one before. It was interesting reading all the information signs and seeing the old pump house. And it was great the Gold Discovery Centre across the road let us use their toilets. So we had a quick look in their store and bought a few souvenirs.

Ssshh! I don't really want to reveal the many beauties of Waihi and surrounds, otherwise too many people will want to come, and the traffic is constant.

Waihi Bike Hire provides excellent, comfortable bikes, well-maintained and at an affordable cost. Your hosts are respectful, helpful, and just downright good kiwis. My daughter, her bloke and I took off on three trail bikes to head down the Hauraki Rail Trail. We booked the bikes for a full day, but we all slept in and arrived very late for our pick-up. Very accommodatingly the chaps charged us for only half a day. They made sure the helmets they provided fitted properly, helped us adjust seats and pointed us in the right direction. The trail itself is a pretty easy and lovely ride for an experienced cyclist. It was my first time on a trail bike so I found riding through gravel unnerving - I'm used to a road bike on solid surfaces. The chaps at the bike hire told us all we needed to know and we just lovely to deal with. This review is about their service rather than the ride itself. I can highly recommend taking the trail and if you need a bike, you cannot do better than this service. They advertise tandems and electric bikes for hire as well if you are ready for those machines.
