Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the kennel tour experience. Nigel and Rose were extremely friendly and very informative. This is definitely an experience you wont want to miss out on, and is so much more than just getting to see and pet the dogs, we left with a real appreciation for the work these dogs do, and the work that has gone into training them.
We drove from Queenstown to visit and definitely think it was worth the journey!

The owners know their dogs and are expert at telling their story and allow you to enter the run with individual dogs. Great to learn about and see them in their home environment.

I visited Real Dog Adventures at the end of January with 2 friends while our husbands were cycling the Central Otago Rail Trail. Nigel was so friendly and so passionate about his dogs - we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Oh, and the dogs are gorgeous! I would definitely recommend the kennel tour if you are passing through the area!

The best experience that we have had on our holiday. Nigel was very informative and allowed us lots of time to meet the dogs and get photos. The highlight for our kids was that they were able to feed them.

Thanks Nigel. You legend!

Today we did the sled tour with our 8 year old daughter, what an awesome experience!
From the moment we are arrived we were greeted with such more hospitality & the morning just got better & better.
Nigel & Rose’s passion for their dogs is infectious, we loved interacting with the dogs & our daughter throughly enjoyed the whole experience. From learning about their business & the dogs, to meeting & patting some dogs to then assist with getting the dogs ready for ride it was all worth every second of our journey from Queenstown & so much more.
A morning of unforgettable memories made.

Absolutely loved our kennel tour with Nigel yesterday. Our 7 year old chose it for his birthday as husky mad. And he is over the moon. Even said it was better than his trip to Fiji last year.
Highly recommend taking the tour and meeting these much loved beautiful dogs.
We'll be back for sure.

It was too wet to go sledding so we did the kennel tour. Nigel & Rose were great, the friendly banter made us feel welcome and The interactive presentation was very well done and way better than I expected. The tea and coffee was a nice touch too. We were introduced to one dog at a time and while all dogs were great the ones wanting a hug and snuggling in were awesome. We will be returning for the sledding experience. Don’t miss it, it will be worth going.

While we didn’t actually do a sled ride or kennel tour, we stopped by on off chance of being able to check out the Mamalut dogs. The owners made us feel incredibly welcome and their passion for what they do was evident in abundance. They are living their dream, doing it their way and left me with a little envy.

Every one driving through the Maniatoto should stop and say hi. The dogs are spectacular, friendly and well worth saying hello to also.

My partner and I decided to visit Real Dog Adventures - and it was one of the best experiences we've had visiting NZ. We were invited to have a cup of coffee with Nigel and Rose, where we chatted about who they were, and why they do what they do. They shared their knowledge about the dogs (Alaskan Malamutes / Canadian Eskimos) and then we were taken to the kennels to meet them. Nigel introduced us to every one of the dogs (around 18 of them!) and we helped get them in the ute for the sled/rig ride. I love how we were involved in getting them harnessed and ready for the run. The run was around 4kms and we got to run through the snow. The dogs were so adorable and well trained, at the end I felt like I got to know them personally which made it such a memorable experience. Rose also took photos for us during the whole experience, so we didn't have to worry about capturing the whole experience ourselves. Thank you Rose and Nigel for having us - we felt like guests to your home rather than tourists.
