It takes some perseverance these days to get to any of the great archaeological sites that are little frequented because of the insecurity. Samarra has had its troubles and this has impacted on being able to get to the city and the famous spiral pyramid....More

The mosque walls are now fully restored and looks almost like new. Amazing view from the top of the minaret of the modern city and golden domed mosque.
