As a westerner, not really religious at all, this place is nice to visit and experience. Across the way is another Shrine. Very busy, no pictures allowed inside

It is the place where Imam Hussain AS camped before Ashora war started There is an allocation of all the camps for family and himself and his supporters

one of the only place in the world where you are drawn in the pain and sufferings of history and sacrifice of Imam Husain and alaiyeibet. So much pain that reaps your heart apart. Must visit at least once in life time
