The Citadel rises in the centre of the city with stunning outer wall and imposing gates. The views over Erbil and the mountains are excellent but there is little inside the citadel - the Textiles Museum and a few other displays. This is still an...More

I enjoyed a lot going around and seing the architecture. We poped up to a few museums and observed people walking around. During the day, it can get really hot (above 40), so maybe it's better to go in the morning. Close by, there is...More

Worth a visit has a great location on top of a hill with amazing views of the city below. Buildings under construction goes with out saying for a place that’s 7000 plus years old. Close to other locations worth seeing as well

This place needs a lot of investment to show its historical value. Security also prohibits visiting the entire place.

Ancient citadel with ancient houses that need to be rehabilitated to be a tourism focal point. A lot of arrangements needed like a professional guide for foreign tourists

When I arrived at customs they asked if it was my 1st visit and then welcomed me to Iraq. Very safe if not the most exciting place to be.
