A spaceship of a building, this modern design contrasts with its content;the early history of the first people on the Island - which predates Stonehenge. Interesting displays, that could benefit from more of an explanation. We particularly liked the reconstruction, and design of the original...More

Discovered this ultra-modern museum while strolling about on Sunday morning. Very well designed and tells the historical story of La Palma extremely well in panels which have English text. Just the right amount..no overload. This is complemented by physical examples of caves, etc. If you...More

Very new and modern museum about the island and its early inhabitants. Not to big, takes half an hour to visit. Interesting!

Good displays and very informative. Learned a lot about the geology and formation of the island, together with the early history of the people. Beautiful simple building that complements the displays. Lots still to learn, would definitely visit again.

There is a lot of information and artefacts in a small space. All the information is clear, concise and easy to understand. Even I didn't get bored or muddled! The admission ticket also gives entry to the Museo Insular in Santa Cruz.

A dusty layout of Benahoar artefacts in a card board decor with no appeal or educational value. Put up in a building of modern architecture, and lots of pretence, which promises a better content to the visitor. Very disappointing.

I was struck by the familiarity with the building, right down to the interior plan. Then I looked at how the building materials joined and realized that this building was probably someones interpretation and not completed with the design team of the original. Once I...More

I first went to the Museo Insular in Santa Cruz where I saw that you could get a double ticket to include the Archaeology Museum in Los Llanos. Set in a modern building, the museum is a short walk from the church. Although the exhibits...More
