On State Highway 1, set amongst the vines is the iconic stone building that is home to Waipara Hills. Here you'll discover an operating winery, cellar door and seasonal cafe. Just 45 minutes drive north of Christchurch.

Great wine tasting at the cellar door. Nice selection of whites and reds. We bought a bottle the central otago pinot noir and a dry riesling.

It is wonderful to know that Dennis was able to help you learn more wine and the processes involved. There is in fact much to learn and our cellar door team all thoroughly enjoy passing on their knowledge to our customers. Enjoy the remainder of...More

We stopped here for lunch and a tasting, the food was only average, we had the tasting platters for four and at the $120 we paid (thank goodness we got some fries on the side or we would have been hungry). We then moved onto...More

Stopped here en-route to Christchurch for one last wine tasting. And not disappointed either. The tastings are free for 3 wines and NZD5 if you want more. But free if you have lunch. Tasting before eating is best as this allows you to chose the...More
