On State Highway 1, set amongst the vines is the iconic stone building that is home to Waipara Hills. Here you'll discover an operating winery, cellar door and seasonal cafe. Just 45 minutes drive north of Christchurch.

Wonderful wine tasting as we drive from Hanmer to Christchurch. The host was friendly. The wine was delicious. It is well worth forcing the driver to stop here.

Stopped off here a bit late in the day on a Friday, not such a good move, but we were made welcome and tasted some lovely wines - would recommend others to drop in and try it.

I think you have to pay for the wine tasting but we were eating there for lunch so didn't pay. An extensive list for tasting. Reds I think we're all Pilot Noirs. Some great whites as well. Very enthusiastic and knowledeable staff.
