Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gwen is so very heartwarmingly passionate about her beautiful wallabies and sets your visit up with expert guidance so you can get the most out of meeting her treasured furry family. She also has shoes of all sizes to wear so you don't get your own footwear dirty. (And she's really good at guessing feet sizes!) Choose a sunny day to get the best of the up close and personal experience of a wallaby eating from your hand. Food is included in the entry price.

Where do I start?! The price is incredibly reasonable and goes back into caring for the wallabies. After a demonstration on how to feed and approach the wallabies, we were sent on our way to walk around and interact with them. I think it was great being able to 'self guide' ourselves around the many paddocks. There was no time limit and we didn't feel rushed. We had heaps of time to pat and feed every single wallaby there. Ow-ie (a 14 month old baby wallaby) was definitely one of the highlights, he was cheeky and had a lot of personality. The owner is a friendly and knowledgeable lady who really loves every single animal in her care. Will be back and cannot wait!

First of all, the lady who runs this place is incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. The animals however are the real stars.
While the parks appearance could be considered scruffy due to the chain link fence, it's practical and, due to the signage, well laid out.
It's great being able to feed and stroke the wallabies.
It only takes about an hour or so, but it's worth it. A great day out.

The old lady who welcomed us in was very pleasant and had a great sense of humour. The Wallabies all had different characters which was interesting to see. Overall, would recommend the experience

Loved our visit! Only 5 mins off the main highway so easy to get to. You get to go through all the paddocks with a bag of food and feed any Wallabies that fancy a snack. They are very gentle and just stay away if not hungry. Crocs or boots are supplied so no worries about mucky feet. Peacocks and various other birds around as well so lots to see. Baby joey cuddles also included 😍

Wow! What a really cool place where you get to hang out with and feed these gorgeous gentle little wallabies. Gwen was just so lovely, we really enjoyed chatting with her. A wonderful experience that everyone must do if you come to beautiful Waimate.

I love this place. The lady Gwen is such a character. As we see the animals she tells stories about all the animals and we can feed the lovely wallabies. We got to see a baby wallaby that we could cuddle and feed. I loved visiting this place and will always drop in when I'm in the area. This is a must see relaxing, educational, fun experience for any ages.
I admired the lady's character and knowledge. 👍😀
