Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are 80 of these info centers in NZ. They are indispensible for getting the local knowledge. they have many brochures and helpful staff.

During the recent flooding of the Rangitata River and closure of all roads north and south from there, we called in at the Methven i-Site seeking help, both for an update on road conditions, and for accommodation. The lady on duty that Saturday was absolutely marvellous. Wish I had taken note of her name because she changed our upsetting predicament into an unexpected but very pleasant two night stay in the nearby Mt Hutt motels. Thankyou Methven, for having your I-Site open at the weekend and the wonderful staff there.

A visit here sorted our stay. The staff listened to what we were looking for and then offered suggestions. We were able to book everything and get our ski tickets through them.

The interactive museum is well worth a visit. Well laid out, informative and attractive displays and videos, and good areas for young kids. The museum covers all facets of the region and is a very good introduction to the importance of the Methven area for world agriculture, the history and development of the Mt Hutt ski field, and much more. It would be great if they could turn the material in the displays into a book.

These places are great for information for the tourist. Local knowledge is invaluable with picking places to go and things to do. This place was no exception. There is also a very interesting display showing the various industries in the region. It’s certainly worth a visit.

I came here to organise and collect my season ski pass for Mt Hutt. I found the centre to be very welcoming, brightly lit and spacious. The staff were lovely and got my pass sorted very quickly and gave me all the information I needed. There was all the information you would need for the local area and wider New Zealand. There is also some souvenirs and clothes etc on sale although these are a little pricey.

Had a wonderful couple of hours here when it just wasn't suitable to be outside. Hardly anyone around and we had lots of fun in the back interactive museum. Very cool asset to this community.

Hi, I am dropping off my 16 year old son and 2 friends at the Methven Resort Hotel to catch the 9.45 ski bus and have to wait around until they return on the 3pm one. He hasnt been snowboarding for a few years and looking at the comments here wondered if he had to activate his pass ? Also wondered what I could do to fill in the hours while I wait ? Thought I might go to the cinema but times for 12 August arent published yet and its looking a bit bleak that the times will suit !. Other than cafes and reaidng my book, am not sure what I can do to pass the time. Can you help please ?
Kind regards
Lynda
