Just finished a totally enjoyable day out with Gordon the Rural Postman on his daily route servicing the farmers in South Wairarapa. Lunch was great and the location was beautiful as we watched the waves crash against the rocks while we cleaned out Gordon’s picnic basket. One could easily see that Gordon enjoys his own slice of paradise as he shared his knowledge and experiences of the area. We were able to feed a deer help ourselves to someone’s mandarin tree Gordon said it was ok and watch the seals and climb to the lighthouse at Palliser Bat. If you’re looking for a fantastic way to spend day I highly recommend Gordon to you. Cheers …

Our day out with Gordon the postie was fantastic from start to finish. Gordon picked us from our Featherston accommodation and took us on our day's adventure exploring the local area whilst doing his mail run. He had lots of local knowledge and interesting stories that he shared with us throughout the day. There were lots of opportunities to stop and take photos of the beautiful landscapes and see wildlife. We were fortunate to have lovely weather and so the scenery looked amazing. Gordon's wife had thoughtfully prepared some snacks and drinks as well as a delicious lunch for our day. Highlights inlcuded the contrasting scenery of the countryside and coast, seeing seals up close, the lighthouse at Cape Palliser with all 200+ steps (which my husband insisted on climbing even though it was Gordon's birthday!), seeing the 'true, rural' New Zealand, fantastic food & having a picnic, tractors pulling boats ashore, scary crayfish (!) and meeting Gordon. He is a legend! Thank you Gordon for a fantastic day out in New Zealand. Highly recommended!…
