A highly informative tour, which was amazing! It was super cool to learn about the history of alpacas in New Zealand and the lovely host was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would have loved to be able to pat more alpacas but of course it was understandable that the animals were very flighty and that wasn't encouraged. Thanks!

Thanks so much for reviewing the time you spent with us and our alpacas. It was great to have you here - you obviously picked up on the fact that we love our alpacas and enjoy talking about them. I would like to clarify that the reason we discouraged you petting the farm animals is simply for that reason -... More

We enjoyed our visit. The venue itself is not as slick or professional looking as other similar attractions we have visited - it was far more 'real Kiwi'! However, we learnt lots about the alpacas which was really interesting. Our two hosts were clearly passionate about their alpacas which was again great to see - this was a real farm... More

Thanks very much for your review stating that you enjoyed your visit. We don't promote ourselves as a 'slick' commercial destination, we offer our guests a visit to a working alpaca farm seeing alpacas in their home environment rather than having alpacas on show. Now is a good opportunity for us to clarify this as it will remain our focus.... More

Always a pleasure to have tour guides that are energetic and excited about there passion and business with the Alpaca Place. . Graeme and I were holidaying in the Waiarapa and though we had done lots of sight seeing around the area this experience was exceptional. To learn something new and see the evidence is a memorable delight. We were... More

High praise indeed! We like to think we call paradise "home" so its lovely to see someone else thinks we live in "alpaca heaven" with our alpacas. Our goal is always to have our guests learn the astonishing history of alpacas in an entertaining way that they enjoy. We're so glad you found the experience was exceptional. Thanks for coming... Liz shared a lot about Alpacas and educated us on their history etc. It was really fun walking around feeding them and walking them. the tour is perfect for young children too as The Alpacas are really mild tempered and they have a group they keep as pets that's docile. we had a lot of fun and my 2 years... The Alpaca Place tour was excellent. The history and all the information about these lovely animals was such an unexpected bonus on top of being able to view and interact with them at such close quarters. They are obviously well treated and loved on this farm. Well done to the owners. A five star experience that I would recommend to... More

Thanks so much for writing your review for us - we're so glad you loved interacting with our alpacas :) With regards to our souvenir shop, we are constantly introducing new products however with a small client base (no foot traffic, simply people who have come on a tour with us) it does not make economic sense to continue to... My family learned much more about alpacas, their history, their care, and their introduction into New Zealand than we had imagined. It was informative and interesting. Feeding some of the female alpacas and walking some of the males were highlights.

Nice place to visit especially with young ones. My 2 year old enjoyed the visit and she could get close to the alpacas. Tour was highly informative and was well worth the visit.

Very interesting experience. Good explaination about the alpacas, their origins and their introduction to NZ. We enjoyed being so close to the animals, however we personally found the experience a little bit on the pricey side.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of your tour with us stating how you enjoyed being close to the alpacas. We've opted to provide an in-depth, personally guided, and fully interactive tour where you can feed, lead and touch our alpacas as opposed to a budget zoo-like experience where you can look but not touch and where...
