Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were looking for something to do on a rainy day in Masterton and this place did not disappoint. It is a fascinating collection and the owner is very knowledgeable about the origins of the cars.
Best to call ahead as it isn't open every day. He opened up for us especially which was a lovely thing to do.

I am not a big car fan so went under duress, we phoned before going, lovely lady met us in the driveway of this peaceful property. Her and husband the mechanic showed us around, my husband loved it. Francisand his wife are lovely genuine decent people this couple have saved so many amazing pieces of history. You must go if you have any interest in cars, memorabilia , old 100 year old building they saved and even fashion.

For a non petrol-head this place is a revelation. For a history buff , a delight. The vintage verhicles are so beautifully
renovated, they positively shine. Each car has models inside dressed in the required period costumes. Pointon
has been indulging his passion for years. He loves his cars so much he prefers NOT to go far on Holidays " What would I do on a beach? " He says. Attention to detail is what he is after. GO to this place and be amazed.

So glad we were delayed in town due to the earthquake and found the collection to have a look around. Great collection and even greater people to show you around! Heaps of motoring memorabilia and old tools etc aswell as some imaculately restored vintage cars all of which are in running condition and driven at local rallies and events. Nice display of fashions from the era for the ladies also and a craft shop too

We visited this museum during a recent visit to Masterton. It was very cool in the middle of Winter, but we had jackets and gloves! It is an amazing collection of vintage cars, models and clothing. There is also a small stall of handicrafts where I purchased a lovely cushion. The lady was very informative and the cars were well presented with appropriately dressed models and accessories. There was also a display of furniture and clothing from a by-gone era. Well worth the modest fee!

mrs Pointon gave us a guided tour around the museum, giving us as much history and detail as we wanted. She has a display of mannequins that are dressed up in different eras of fashion from the 1920's to the 1940's and she changes them every season. All cars are in working order in the main shed and others are a work of progress. Well worth the $10 as we were there for over an hour and took our time looking and asking questions.
