What a wee beauty

Norm was an excellent host lots of brewery info told with Scottish humor. Can recommend this as a place to go. Plus you can walk away with some outstanding beer or cider. Thanks for a great time.

A gem of a find in Kaka Point
Jan 2021
We had only a couple of nights in Kaka Point so a pretty full schedule to be achieved in a very short time. When could we possibly squeeze in a visit to The Catlins Brewery??? Well, a call to Norm had us sorted for a 730pm tour and taste (luckily he lives very very close by!) Norm is a very personable individual and needless to say he is most passionate about his product. We were enthralled to hear of how brewery came about, how ingredients are sourced and how 'recipes' evolved. And while we know what we like, it was still quite a task to narrow our takeaway selection to a bottle choice of 5. Thank you, Norm. And we love the bottle labels and names given to the various brews!

A brew to look forward to

Favourite brew is definitely Kaka Point Gold Golden Ale. Can also get it behind the bar at Kaka Point pub. Comes in 500ml bottles so a great long drink. Haven’t found it anywhere else so it’s a treat when we take the drive to the Catlins.

Unique home brewery tour & with great selection of beers
Jul 2019 • Friends
We happen to bump into Norman at ‘The Point’ pub in the local village, drinking one of his beers. He then invited me and my friends to come by his home brewery for the following day, and I am SO glad we went. Such a unique experience being in his home, and how he set it all up and how he got into crafting beers. We tried a huge variety of different beers from locals hops grown on his fence, to coffee stouts and even mead which was potent but lovely. He even gave us insight into the bottling process and let us try and take home our own bottled beer. To top of it off, his mother in law made us home made pancakes and cream. Honesty the best brewery experience you’ll ever have. Thanks Norman!

Called in on the off chance and Norm was more than obliging and offered us a tour of the current brewery and history.
We capped this off with a wee taster and this really made the day!

Excited to be buying Norms finest online soon

Great beer

My husband and I recently stayed in Kaka Point and tasted beer from this micro brewery. We tried pale ale and stout. Both very enjoyable. Just goes to show how much better micro breweries are!

Great beer brewery tour and very friendly owner!
Dec 2017 • Friends
We headed up the brewery about 4 pm and the brewery owner was very welcoming us. He told us the brewery process and history of his business which was so kind. We could taste a couple of Catlin beers which were really great. You should visit here or try this brand even though you don't have a time to come along the brewery. Thanks for your big hospitality and give my regards to your lovely son and cute dog moly! Hope your brewery would grow successfully!!
