Awesome 360deg view up top following a pleasant trek there. Alternate tracks and walks for those wanting to go further. Brilliant.

Great walks with amazing views of the Hauraki Gulf
Dec 2020
Great walks (allow 1-2 Hours) around the end of the peninsula with stunning views of the Hauraki Gulf. Regional Council run park with camping sites available. Toilet facilities are old and need replacing but excellent if you have a self contained camper/caravan. Great safe swimming beach with plenty of parking. Check out the old wool shed for history about the place.

Easy hikes
May 2020 • Couples
The Heritage trail is very nice and passes by a lovely waterfall. Continue on and you will meet up to the Lookout trail (worth doing) and you can walk down to the beach. There’s camping and I bet it gets crowded in summer. It was a beautiful sunny day today, May 30, and perfect for walking. Make sure you get your pic in front of the “frame”.

Beautiful park and drive
Dec 2019 • Couples
Very picturesque park and beach. Was not crowded at all the day we were there (Christmas Eve). This is very far from the typical Auckland sights, but the drive through Whangaparaoa is quite scenic.

Great place to camp
Jan 2020
We stayed three days in the self contained area opposite the beach. Great walks around the park with different fitness levels catered to. Beach and area well maintained and tidy. Great spot for picnics and activities.

Amazing school camp
Nov 2019
There is an amazing and beautiful beach, which is populated with super cute beach birds nested in the dunes. The campsite has easy access to public toilets and sinks and trees to give tents shade.I enjoyed staying at Shakespear regional park for several days with my school.Thank you rangers that work there, for keeping all the native birds safe and healthy.

Nice day walk
Nov 2019 • Couples
A lovely day walk. We took just the 45 minutes walk, but there are other options . You can enjoy the view of the Rangitoto Island when you reach the top. There is a place to sit and relax also. Lovely walk and amazing views
