Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wentworth Valley has long been a family walk for our tribe. It’s an easy walk up to the water fall. Take your swimming outfits/togs if you like a refreshing swim. Sign posted from Wentworth Valley Road. Remember to clean shoes in area provided to help stop the spread of kauri die back a tree disease.

This is one of the best Bush hikes Whangamata has to offer, although there are many more which are also great. A steady incline brings you to stunning views back out to sea and a beautiful waterfall. Round trip is a comfortable couple of hours. Well maintained tracks with a couple of bridges to help cross the stream.

This walk begins at the end of Wentworth river road. It is in signed and a lot of the road is un sealed. Once you get there park on the road and chose the walk. If you walk to see the waterfall it is just over 2 miles and mostly a climb, took us 45 minutes each way. The waterfall is not the most spectacular but worth the walk.

Having just had a couple of nights at the delightful Bushland Park Lodge whilst there we took a walk to Wentworth Falls. The walk starts about 300 m from the Lodge but there is plenty of car parking. The sign states the walk takes 1 hour 15 minutes to the Falls but we did it in an hour and we are both over 65! It is an easy walk in the bush - which helped because the weather was not fantastic. There is one slightly muddy part where planks had been put down to make easy crossing - we were glad we had taken our walking poles - otherwise it is very easy. There is a good viewing point for the Falls but we did not walk to the top where we were told there was a good view to the ocean because of the rain. However we thoroughly enjoyed it - a good track and easy walking.

Travelling up through a beautiful country valley vista on a well maintained gravel road, then onto a picturesque steady inclining track that won’t challenge anyone with a basic fitness level, what a lovely hour walk. Sorry Whanga’s but the falls is no Niagara, or even a challenge to my local Tikipunga falls. Close to Whangamata with lots of photo opportunities, and evidence of Coromandel ‘s early mining history, well worth the effort.

Stunning walk or jog, its a gentle climb but definitely a good track. Great view of the waterfall, even great for a dip. Love this hike! Great for kids.

Back in Whangamata for the first time in about ten years. Have always loved the Wentworth Falls track so headed up there in light drizzle. Short drive from the township as you head back towards Waihi. Turn right just past the golf club. In April/May watch out for the Persimons for sale about halfway along the access road. $4.00 a bag or $10.00 a box. Good parking at the start of the walk. The track is well marked and excellently maintained. It is suitable for a half-decent mountain buggy type pram. You might have to lift it over a couple of small repairs of the track after a recent storm. Good elevation heading up to the falls. As fit 50 year olds it took 55 minutes to get to the top of the falls and about 40 minutes down. Darling had the brainwave to do some interval sprints while we were at the lookout which I am sure I will feel tomorrow. Good foliage cover from sun or rain. This is a must do team. Nature... Get into it.

The Wentworth Valley is a short picturesque drive from Whangamata township and includes an easy walk to the impressive Wentworth Falls. Parking beside the camping area, the walk follows a well formed track alongside the river. Use the toilets at the camping area as there are none on the track. The track takes a gentle incline, until the shortish last section, and would be doable for all grades of fitness, including small children and older people. The recommended time was two hours return, however, we did it in a comfortable 90 minutes, including time for photos and a detour to the top of the falls,(worth taking for the views). And we are in our 60's, and not super fit. It is a good walk on a hot day as the track is shaded by native bush most of the way. Recommended.

A beautiful easy bush walk with plenty of photo spots. The track is excellent and listening to the water and birds along the way is delightful. Make sure once you get to the falls you walk an extra couple of minutes to the top of the falls. The view to the coast is magic. I am 60 and it took me 45 minutes there. A really pretty walk.

Wentworth Valley walk to the waterfall was very enjoyable - mostly under shade along a good gravel track, took about 50-55 mins incl several stops for photos. The waterfall is stunning and well worth the walk.
