We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked 6 ebikes for a 3 hour ride to Peninsula point and back. It was great fun. Riding up the hills was effortless and we experienced being out in the forest and the views along the way.
The bikes were very good quality with good batteries and we zoomed along.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the whole experience was good.

I didn’t actually use this company but I did witness the expertise of the guy who was the coach/instructor. I was enthralled at his brilliant technique with 3 youngsters who listened intently and then carried out the drills. They then kayaked out onto the water. I watched them for 50 minutes and they were buzzing on their return. Well done the tutor and the young lads.

Chris was fantastic with his communication, so don't be discouraged off if you can't get to Donut island strait away due to high winds. We loved it loved it, and he was very helpful in how to get through the surf and what to do/expect once we got to the island. Great outfit.

Our 2-hour self-guided kayaking trip out to Whenuakura (Donut Island) was an absolute highlight of our North Island trip. Chris (owner of Pedal & Paddle) was very knowledgeable about the conditions, and very generous with his time and advice. We were in Whangamata for a few days so we had the flexibility to book the trip on a day that Chris recommended based on when the conditions were looking to be ideal. Even though we are inexperienced kayakers, we felt comfortable with going for the self-guided tour option after talking to Chris as it was clear that he would not have advised us to do this if the conditions were unsuitable. We went out at the earliest possible time (8am) and it was just stunning, with the sun still rising over the ocean. We had the lagoon to ourselves for a little while, which was incredibly special. I imagine this would not have been possible had we gone later in the morning as there were a lot more kayakers on the water by then, so I highly recommend doing this early and going through Chris - you will be in great hands :) Also, a shout out to Brendan and Mathieu who made everything run super smoothly on the day itself.

Amazing double kayak trip with good price and advice. He did advise us return trip would be windy, but we still made it back safely due to his help.
