I borrowed a hotel bike and rode the track. I there in the middle of the week and saw a few people using the track, as there are a few blind corners I would recommend taking it easy as you wouldn't want a head-on.

Our group of 32 started our walk opposite the Lakes Resort entrance on the Hikuai Settlement Road. The trail is an easy walk, with a few gentle undulations on a mostly level gravel surface, and including boardwalks through the mangrove areas. As it is a...More

I both walked and cycled this trail, on the hunt for the geocaches that have been hidden along its length. I found all but one, and really enjoyed the scenery .

Loved this hike. Was a bit steep and slightly challenging but so worth it when you get to the top and see those views. Highly recommended!!

We walked the pauanui/Tairua trail and we were very impressed by what has been achieved by the local community. There are great views and it's a easy relaxing walk or bike ride and is being well patronised by the locals and visitors alike!

A great trail around the wetlands. Plenty of rest places. Need a mountain bike as the road metal is quite sharp. A few little inclines where more gears would be useful. An excellent thing to do for the whole family. We also went across the...More

Not yet but that will be the next stage. It goes from Pauanui to Duck Creek. They've made a great job of it. Needs a bit of attention after all the crowds for the holidays. A bit sandy in places but still a good ride.
