Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is out season and the bird park was closed. Otherwise, I enjoyed looking at the murals and walking through the park. People were friendly. The history of the region is very interesting.

An interesting wee rural town respecting its history by story telling through wonderful murals of various buildings etc in the town. Well worth doing a walking tour.

I was not really a person who liked murals on walls, but I have certainly changed my mind since shopping and/or driving through Katikati. The wall murals are so beautifully painted and salute historical people and happenings in the area. They match any murals we've seen in other parts of the world. We never tire of seeing these. Just amazing.

If you are passing through it is definitely stopping to look at these interesting murals. Suggest you get a map from the information centre. Easy to see and photograph.

About 30 murals and all in excellent condition considering a lot were painted in the 90's. Park the car and wonder around enjoying them. Some of the murals had small stories about them while others are only their to look at and make up your own story.

Forgot how funny and interesting these murals are scattered all over Katikati. They are varied but my favourites are the Kiwi bloke and his dog plus the liquorice all sorts piano - they just appeal to my sense of humour. I hope there will be more in the future.

A chance stop and we went into the visitor centre where the lovely helpful people told us all about the town and how the murals developed.

Really interesting and colourful town - well worth a stop.
