    Awesome experience, thoroughly recommend
Had an awesome time of the Awakeri Rail Adventures last month. Enjoyed everything from the chicken run, bush walk & coffee stop (great coffee by the way). Scenery was beautiful & having perfect weather was a bonus. Credit to Paul for setting this adventure up. Even though a couple of our group work for Kiwirail, you can never get enough of Rail. KEEP ON ROLLING!!!!!!

    A great afternoons entertainment!
We had an awesome time on the Awakeri Rail trip. Paul was great to deal with, everything ran like clockwork. Feeding the chickens, the bush walk, viewing the gumboot fence smoko and the ride home was great fun.

    Fun and Laughs
We loved this activity. I'd organised it as a surprise for hubby's birthday and we both loved it. Really interesting, good fun, laughs, just totally enjoyable. The 10km track each way provides the opportunity to share the driving and do a variety of speeds. Scenic views of animals and farmland. Enjoyed feeding the chooks, the bush walk, gumboot fence, cup of tea and biscuit in the bush, learning the history of the place, and the turnaround process. Three hours made it good value. Definitely recommend it. Thanks Paul.

A great experience for all age groups
Highly recommend this adventurous 2.5 hours of pure entertainment including a bush walk, billy tea in the bush, feeding the geese and chooks and an outstanding humorous commentary from owner Paul. A great experience and a credit to Paul as he is a mine of information on all things railway related. This is something I would happily do on a regular basis. A great adventure for all ages.

    Highly Recommend
The trip was great, more than we expected. The cars are very easy to drive. Paul is a great guide - knowledgeable, informative and fun. He gave us just the right amount of history and information about the plants, birds and region. His sense of humour was perfect. We got a couple of surprises which were hilarious. Loved feeding the chickens.

    Great day out
We really enjoyed this trip, so did our kids, these carts are actually drive yourself ones.easy as, I think there were 3 stops along the way, bush walk feeding chicken and geese, tunnels and bridges a little bush shack to stop at for a hot drink and biscuits. Paul the owner operator was real down to earth guy. One of our daughters got to sit in his cart on way back he let her operate the walkie talkie, she really enjoyed that part. Definitely worth the money. We have also done the Mamaku rail Cruze and this one is by far the better of the two. Is longer, more things to do with the stops along the way.Definitely recommend as a fun day out.

    A fun family day.
Awakeri rail adventure is a fun unique experience. We took a 4 year old and a 11 year old and they loved the journey. Highlights were feeding the bird life, the walk into pristine native bush and a coffee in the forest. This is a must do experience that appeals to a range of ages. Safety was paramount which was reassuring. Do this adventure and meet real Kiwi's.

    Absolutely must do in Awakeri
What an amazing hidden gem in Awakeri!!! I couldn't recommend this journey enough to everyone. We had the absolute pleasure of joining Paul, our guide for an awesome 3hr trip, ride/bush walk /snack. I can't wait to do it again. Had the best time and Paul's talks and sense of humour were the icing on the cake. He was informative, and safety briefing and driving lesson were fantastic, as we set off to enjoy awesome scenery. If you haven't booked in,then I highly suggest this as an absolute MUST DO .. suitable for all ages to enjoy . Thanks for a fab morning...see y'all soon 🚉🚂

    Fun trip on the rails
Good value fun! A bush walk, feed some chickens, a cup of tea and a biscuit plus 2 hours on the rails, what is not to love. A must do if in the area and the price when compared to similar trips is excellent.

This is an absolute must if you are in the area. We have done the Chicken Run previously so this time we went with the Bushwalk & Snack Run. Paul makes the whole trip enjoyable while sharing some fun learning points. Will definitely try the Express run next time

An enjoyable ride with stops to feed some chickens, take a brief walk through a bush and see a gumboot fence, and for a brief snack. My group enjoyed the outing - definitely something different to do. Safety was high on the list and explained well. At the snack stop our guide Paul surprised the group with 2 cakes to celebrate a participant's birthday. Was all smiles all around. A nice way to spend part of the day, recommended.

I bought a voucher at the Home and Garden Show in Taupo in 2023. Very reasonably priced for the whole family
We thoroughly enjoyed doing the rail trail. We found Paul a great host with a great rapport and sense of humour
We loved the little stops along the way that gave us a chance to learn a little bit about the area.
A must for families that are holidaying in the area.

Amazing day out. Paul was great, full of knowledge about the rail and the trees/bush surrounding. Carts were super easy to use and instructions were very clear. Would recommend to everyone. Hope you enjoyed the apple slice ;-)

Was looking at going but staff were so rude we decided to spend our money elsewhere. We we really shocked! :( shame for the local community to have that kind of carry on in their precious local tourist attractions.
