Guide books and info centers talk of this place as fun and full of creative water sculptures. Not true, creations are very simple and not very creative. Mostly it is about shooting water at others or yourself. Or pumping water up to see it go...More
We recently drove over to Coromandel Town, and up to the Waterworks. We enjoyed the many zany creations and information boards. We also tried out all of the rides, even the ones on the kids' playground. The adult zip line was a hoot. That was...More
The place is creatively designed complimenting the natural environment. Besides the fun water activities and playground for kids, there is a Swing and a flying fox for adults too. Nice place for a family picnic too.
My partner and I spent a few hours here and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Waterworks is full of fun facts and imaginative water sculptures made from old and varied things. There are many interactive displays. The setting is very pleasant with a beautiful river...More

Thanks for your comments, we take on board what you have to say.
We could have stayed for longer but had a four hour turnaround. My 8 year old and 12 year old absolutely loved it. Loads to do and really unusual fun and imaginative creations. You will definitely get sprinkled with water?
Three generations of our family went there today. Lovely sunny day and we all had lots of laughs and fun. There are so many interesting things to see and interactive displays to work. Obviously it’s been there a long time and it would be interesting...More

Hello, A friend of mine and their family built and invented these gardens some years ago (but new owners these days). Anytime even just 2 hours is worth the visit... it is humorous, educating and fun. Afterwards (depending on where you are staying) you could have a picnic tea/barbecue on the beach (near where you turn off to gardens) or even have your tea (picnic style) at the gardens... there is a nice sheltered spot at the coastal end of the carpark. If in a freedom camper, they may even let you stay the night, worth asking. ta, Xavier xx
