Wasn’t the best of ideas to climb up the mountain having had a recent stay in hospital with a back problem but well worth the effort! The climb to the top certainly gave my heart rate an outing but with plenty of places to stop...More

Montana Roja is a popular attraction for many people visiting PlayaBlanca. This is a very accessible Volcano that offers wonderful views, a great walking experience & a rapid sun tanning opportunity. Access is free. Bring drinking water.

1 mile walk up volcano for great views - a bit slippery under foot so def wear trainers. quite windy at the top so sweatshirt/waterproof a good idea.

Drive as far as u can up the hill to start, wear good shoes as pretty rocky in parts, be prepared for wind but amazing views as u walk the crater of the volcano

Wonderful views and really worth the climb up the hill. From the town just head upwards and eventually you'll reach the path up to the top. Can get a little windy so hold onto your hats!
