Like so many churches in Puglia this one was "upgraded" to the opulent baroque style in the mid 17th century. The result is an imposing eye catching façade dominating Piazza San Pietro. The interior is more modern being redone in the 19th century.

This church, like many others in Lecce, is very Baroque in nature. The beautiful art and architecture that ornately decorates this church make it worth a visit.

The small town of Galatina has few big churches and this one is one of them. it has great baroque facade and interesting indoor.
