Very beutyful and quite. Need to work with the lawn. Not like in the UK. Very good ice cream in the restaurant in the garden.

This is a great baroque garden with some wonderfully shady walks, and lots of flowers. Not dramatically spectacular, but worth a detour if you are looking at some other sights in the vicinity of Dresden (e.g. Pirna). There is some construction work going right now, and the entrance fee has been reduced to reflect this. You also need to pay for parking, and the only option available is a 24-hour ticket (for 1.50€, I think)... There is a restaurant/coffee place, too, which serves some basic food. However, service could be better, to put it mildly. I was in some way reminded of the "old GDR times": we weren't allowed to sit where we wanted (because a bus-load of tourists was apparently supposed to turn up - well, it never did), one of the waitresses didn't want to take our order because her colleague was supposed to do this (well, she didn't) and two of the four items we ordered were no longer available.

We visited this garden when early spring flowers were just out. The arrangement of the flowerbeds and the different flowers in them was attractive. There were a number of orange tree on blossom and with fruit on them still inside the building, but a show of them outside was being prepared - we were sorry to miss that.
