Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent experience! I’ve been here a few times now and each time has been great! Facility is clean, food and service is excellent. Pool is nice with lots to do. There are several saunas for different levels, all are exceptional!

All very good, except at the bar in the Sauna world. It was a humiliating experience. First, the waitress in 'Saunawelt' assumed I had sneaked into the Sauna (perhaps based on my obvious foreign accent). Then she told me this is not the place for kids, since it is a 'quiet' area (my kids were actually the quieter humans there!). Shortly after, she yelled at me, that electronic equipment was not allowed there, referring to my laptop (this, sitting under a large plasma TV, and in the 'silent' zone). There are only signs that mobiles are not allowed, but none of laptops, ebooks etc.
On the exit, I politely say goodbye and she was visibly aggressive telling me that was not our way out. She of course assumed we did not pay for the sauna and where not supposed to change in their dressing rooms. All very disappointing.
The rest: GREAT place, fun slides for kids, the warm pool is very relaxing, the sauna very clean and the spaces there large and relaxing. The sport & spass is way too crowded though. All other workers VERY nice. Sorry for the poor rating, would be 4 stars without the above mentioned woman. I do hope this message reaches her.

Dear Marta, thank you very much for your detailed feedback. The response we get from our guests is very important for us and helps us to define those issues where we can and have to improve our service. First of all, we are very pleased that you and your kids enjoyed our different areas. But of course we are very sorry that your day was overshadowed by an unpleasant encounter at our sauna bar. Of course the behaviour of our employee that you are describing is absolutely incorrect and doesn't correspond to our idea of a good service. We want to apologize for it and we will forward your message internally. We would be very pleased if you would visit us again anyway and give us the chance to improve. Kind regards, your WONNEMAR Team

Wonderful for a relaxing spa day or for a fun afternoon with kids. Many activities, inside and also a few outside (weather permitting). Very clean and very well organized. Absolutely wonderful for sore muscles after skiing!

First time in nude sauna was fantastic. A clean environment we're we were at ease. Great food and cash less system. Watching wife get naked massage was great. The ppl who host the spa are so professional even when things got a little steamy between us and another couple they turned a blonde eye

This Spa was a total surprise having enjoyed a number of Spas in Germany and this came top of our list. It was luxurious, tastefully designed and sheer enjoyment. We love Saunas and this one at Wonnemar was wonderful, beautifully designed with saunas both inside the building and outside in the gardens. From an underground sauna to the Finnish type, in addition there was a steam room, both Roman and Greek type baths and massage rooms, not forgetting the infra-red heating cabins. Children are well catered for in the large pool with a huge slide and there is also a training pool with lanes. There are also heated pools to ease weary muscles or just to relax in. The Sauna area is a quiet area and no cell phones, camera allowed. Cannot recommend this facility enough and this is part of a chain so by searching the Internet one could find a Wonnemar near your specific holiday destination. One last thing the panoramic view from the gardens of the southern Alps (Algäu) is absolutely stunning.

The pools are a good size and if you wish to swim proper lengths then it is possible, the slides and toys are great for kids of all ages.

The spa area is very relaxing and the outdoor/indoor pool has memorable views across the alps.

Sauna area is very comprehensive and the outside section is really relaxing with the best views in the building. (Be aware though that it is expected that you will be naked - which I felt much more comfortable with than I anticipated).

Overall highly recommended.

Because the weather in Bregenz wasn't good we took the drive to Sonthofen which was about 1 hour from our holiday location in the Bregenzer Alps. A nice drive passing Oberstaufen. And in Oberstaufen, too, there is a nice Erlebnisbad ("Aquaria"). Also highly rated by us, though Wonnemar tops it. We came on a quiet Wednesday. Maybe that gave us the nice impression, not overcrowded. Location is really nice. We paid a bit over 30 Euro's for a family (< 4 is free). There are nice slides. The Kamikaze is steep drop. Crazy river, really, is crazy. Black hole is cool. Funny enough all slides are for 8 years+. Although we went in the Black Hole with our son, nice slide but really no reason to put 8 years limit. There is a lot to do for the youngest too. And a nice outdoor area. Food is typical for Germany, but includes a salad bar too (so no need for standard burgers and schnitzels). To close, the locations is really clean. Have not often seen such a perfect public pool. The highest standards. Chapeau!

Where to start...best sauna, best massage, best services, affordable prices. This is one of the best places I visited in Europe. Great views while relaxing by the pool after a great sauna. Lounge around or take a dip in the pool. Most impressive services. The massage was a high point.
