The statue is located down the road from the Church of the Good Shepherd so it could be fairly easy to miss. The statue is interesting with a life-sized sheepdog. the statue is also raised so it is fairly visible from a distance. The views here are also quite nice.

I make the same comment about this statue as about the nearby church. It wouldn't attract much attention if it was stood in a park or in the town somewhere. It is simply the location next to Lake Tekapo that sets it apart from other statues.

Nice little statue set in the most stunning setting. We wandered down here as it is near the famous church

Easy to get to because close to the famous church. I am very impressed that this statues has been put in place to recognizes the work a collie and other breeds out forth to help farmers manage their herds of animals

The church and this statue are incredibly popular! Busloads of people! My husband went here 20 years ago and there was no one then. Definitely worth a stop but be prepared for the crowds.

To the right of the Good Shepherd church is the memorial statue of a Border Collie farm dog. I absolutely loved the dedication given to these brilliant dogs.

Hi, mickwoz. What would you like to know about this attraction?. Edward has it all wrong ! the statue is a tribute to all working dogs in the makenzie country, not mackenzies dog. PS I should know as my father supplied the dog that was used as the model
