This lake is such a beautiful lake with the church of the good shepherdand the Mackenzie shep dog statue right next to it.

Great to walk around. The water is clean and beautiful. Some parts it is even turquoise in colour. Recommend you walk near the church of the good shepherd bridge to see how nice the water is. Good photo ops!

Views are incredible. Worth a visit. But don't need very long there. Lots of laybys to pull over from the road.

We took the road up towards Roundhill ski area. There are various points to pull over. You do need a camera!

Tekapo is a mountain town, with hot springs, water sports, the usual food places, but it also has the ski area, note the picture below, and in the yellow dot highlights a skier, just to give you a idea of the size of the place....More

The observatory on Mt John is great but can be closed due to high winds; pick your day well.

Also the Farmyard is next to the Peppers Bluewaters Resort. not at the center of the township. need about 3 mins. drive to the 4 Square and the shops. The nearest spot area was the water ski that I mention before. And it... More

yes, there's a carpark near the cafe, but got to pay NZ$5 to drive up. Must join tour for the night time star gazing, coz no one is allow to drive up Mt John at night
