Great place to contemplate, relax, hike, stargaze. Thoroughly recommend for other NZers, believe well loved by international visitors too. Will definitely be back.

Hi If you book a room in peppers Bluewater I recommend strongly to wash your dishes before to use it. I saw some staff to do the dishes with the dirty bath towels! 😨 The small room looks sad and no views on the lake.

I don't know why people making big deal but this is a ordinary lake and ordinary lake view. If it's not on your road don't spend too much money to see here.

Spent a long time taking pictures here with my family from the look out point and also at the church. After doing the south island road trip, my family and i decided that this was the most beautiful lake :)

We passed through and spent one night in Tekapo. We stayed in our van and woke up early morning for a beautiful sunrise. We drove along some dirt tracks and had such fun exploring. It's incredibly beautiful and one of our favourite places in NZ

The observatory on Mt John is great but can be closed due to high winds; pick your day well.

I am coming from Christchurch & spend a night at Lake Tekapo. Where can I find fish equipment rental & buy one day license? Is the store renting a boat for fishing too? Are there specific spot in Lake Tekapo for fishing? Could you tell me which spot is the nearest from Balmoral Farmyard? Thanks.

Also the Farmyard is next to the Peppers Bluewaters Resort. not at the center of the township. need about 3 mins. drive to the 4 Square and the shops. The nearest spot area was the water ski that I mention before. And it... More
