Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

9pm and we were present at the solar circle to meet and hear Billy The Bard. He's a bit larger than life and is a real showman. We were dressed warmly but he'd laid out blankets for us all to use and had heaters going (usually a fire but there's a drought on and a fire ban) . Gave us his version of history through the medium of stories and songs, pointed out constellations and generally entertained us for about an hour or so. He even had us singing and some young ladies dancing. A good show and well worth checking it out - he puts out sandwich boards around town when he decides to perform as it's reliant on weather. Give it a try - and be sure to have a donation available for the perfomance

Billy the Bard is amazing! A must do when visiting the Tekapo area. He charmed us with his singing, jokes and wisdom of the stars. You’ll be so glad to have unearthed this little gem of an experience. Wrap up, snuggle under the provided blanket and listen to the wonders of the sky. Have some cash as you won’t feel like you have to tip him, rather you’ll want to!

Well worth the show. We were lucky enough to find the show by Billy the Bard at Lake Tekapo. Please go. He is great and it is a little quirky show held outside in the round for a donation. From his entry via the Flower of Scotland, we were entertained and informed. Great value.

If you have primary school aged kids get on board with Billy and spend an hour learning about planets and some local history. The show is very interactive and the kids will have a great time. Billy is very enthusiastic, entertaining and really funny.
What a great way to spend a long summers evening down at Lake Tekapo, grab some marshmallows and head on down. Starts around 9.30pm weather permitting.
The best entertainment in the area.

Billy the Bard offered us a different and curious evening, in which he combined astronomy, local legends and poetry. If you are in Tekapo and see its sign, do not hesitate to attend to the call of its drum at dusk.
