I showed up 5 minutes before check in and the woman at reception was very nice, notified me that there was 100% cloud cover and give me a full refund. The weather obviously changes fast since it was a nearly cloudless day when I hiked around the area earlier. Fortunately, I was staying within walking distance of the check in... More

The twilight tour is really worth doing. It is really educational and the views are just stunning. The staff were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I felt like I was on the big bang theory!

It was an amazing tour and I have to say that I am usually not the most interested in the universe and what lies behind what we can see. This was amazing though. The sky in Tekapo is so clear and dark and I have never been able to see that many stars with the naked eye. I was able... More

Very well run tour and organised perfectly from the moment you book. Notified by email of exact times and where to be. We had a perfect night for star gazing as a clear night. We will never look at the sky the same again! Guides were very knowledgeable and passionate about astronomy! Absolute must see while at Lake Tekapo!

This is one of the best places in New Zealand. Going up the mountain to see the Telescopes was awesome and the guides were great. Bit scary going up at midnight and lights off so it doesn't interfere with the lighting for the telescope but man it was awesome! 10/10

This was an amazing night. Whilst we were very lucky to have an almost cloudless night with a set moon, the sights we saw simply blew us away! The guides from the bus driver onwards were informative and congenial. We will never forget this experience. A must do - but weather conditions will always make the difference.

Our tour was cancelled due to high winds. Totally understand it's due to weather but it had been windy all day and they waited until all tour participants had arrived and mingled around for ages to let us know. It was very late (around 11:30pm) and we would have preferred to be advised earlier in the evening so that we... More
