Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A recently added memorial to the legendary Richard Winters - who would shun even the thought of a statute or memorial left in his name. Worth a stop to read the placard and look over the fields he led his men through during the D-Day jump and landings. An ode to the many heroes who didn't make it back.

Hubby stopped the car all of a sudden and said there it is. Here is me thinking we were going to a large museum!

Seriously though it is just beside the road and you can stop and take a photo of a very important memorial.

As usual in France very well looked after and looks very respectful. ( By comparison we visited a memorial in the New Forest and it was so overgrown with weeds you could hardly read the names)

When you visit Normandy this is a must-see attraction. Close to St Mere Eglise. Easily accessible by car or bus. No tour guide is necessary.

A must see while in Normandy. An example of the history of this area and memorial to Maj. Winters. Recommend to see. Was here for about 10 minutes.

This is a road site photo-op memorial, so will take minutes, not hours. But if you are a fan, you know you're going to stop.

This monument is not right on the beach among others, but by the road leading to it.
It pays tribute to Major Dick Winters, one of great men who led his troops on that historic day.
It's a quick stop by the road, few parking spaces around.

Just awe inspiring to see where history happened. Being at the field where Dick Winters and Easy Co took out the 105s on D Day is something I’ll always remember.

Came across this staue on the way to Utah Beach.

As Commander of Easy Company Major Winters lead a small assault force in this area that eliminated a substatial German howitzer battery that had been firing on troops exiting the Utah beach.

A fitting tribute to an officer who lead his men by example throughout the liberation of Europe.
